145 and counting

As a firm believer in using business as a force for good, I was quite pleased to learn about Nike’s donation of $100K to Brian Bordainick’s Field of Dreams. Brian is 23, ambitious, and embarking on one of the largest civic engagement projects in New Orleans.

George Washington Carver High School’s resurrection occurred in the wake of Katrina and in the heart of the 9th ward. Three and a half years later the Mighty Rams find their football team practicing on an abandoned parking lot and busting their humps to raise dollars for a new community sports space providing an unprecedented resource to the city and everyone in it.

With just under five months to raise ONE MILLION dollars, there is a long road ahead.

Which begs the question, what if ten more businesses made the same commitment?
Please, suggest away. Champion? Hanes?
